Firefighters battled midday brush blazes in three San Diego County sites Thursday, but no structures were threatened and there were no injuries.
At 12:41 p.m., California Department of Forestry firemen responded to a fire in the Boulevard area, at Crestwood Road and Interstate 8. The blaze eventually scorched seven acres and required three air tankers, two helicopters, a bulldozer and seven engines to douse.
At 11:47 a.m., two air tankers and two engines began to battle a 50-acre fire in Mexico that edged a mile onto U.S. territory at Bell Valley Truck Trail and Highway 94 east of Potrero. Mexican and U.S. firefighters contained the blaze at 1:30 p.m.
And at 1 p.m., five engines and one bulldozer were deployed to fight a two-acre fire at Potrero Valley Road in Potrero. It was contained in an hour later.
