Nine people were killed in two unrelated auto accidents in Northern California. A woman and her three children died when their car crashed head on into a motor home on California 99 in Turlock, the California Highway Patrol reported. Witnesses said the car, driven by Katherine Bryant, 30, of Delhi, weaved erratically, then crossed northbound lanes, a center dividing strip and southbound lanes into the motor home. Dead at the scene were Bryant, her daughter Jessica, 7, and two sons, Derek, 4, and Rodney, 2. In another accident, five people, including three children, were killed when their car, which was reportedly speeding, ran off a road in the Sacramento River Delta, authorities reported. Dead were Louis R. Hernandez, 37, his wife, Margaret, 35, Sonya, 13 and Anthony, 11, all of Vallejo, and Michael Williams, 10, of Redding. The two Vallejo children were apparently the Hernandez’s children, authorities said. A sixth passenger, Mario Silas, 15, survived.
