Paul Hahn has been hired as women’s tennis coach at Cal Lutheran. He is a 1985 graduate of CLU. Since May, Hahn, who was a four-year member of the Kingsmen tennis team, had worked as a teaching professional and coach at Hollin Meadows Tennis and Swim Club in Alexandria, Va.

Vincent Ray scored 25 points and Mel Braxton added 18 to lead Mid-Valley to a 69-46 victory over Crespi in the college division final in the American Roundball Corp. playoffs at North Hollywood High. Crespi was led by Steve Yoest’s 19 points. In the third-place game, Abe Mathews scored 13 points to lead Moorpark to a 52-46 win over Woodland Hills, which received 18 points from Ricky Hergott.

In the junior division, Santa Monica defeated Westwood, 59-56, for first place, but Westwood will represent ARC in an exhibition series that runs Aug. 19-21 against teams from the Bay Area. Mid-Valley’s ninth grade team, which features Mitch Butler, also will play in that tournament.

In Sunday’s ARC final, Raymond Pickett scored 28 points for Westwood. Santa Monica was led by Cyrus Yarborough with 19 points.

The Hart Pony All-Star baseball team qualified for the Pony World Series with a 10-0 victory over Los Gatos in the Western Zone final Monday at Watsonville, Calif. The Hart team of 13- and 14-year-olds includes 10 players and seven starters from the team that won the Bronco World Series (11- and 12-year-olds) two years ago.

Hart (10-1) will play its first game of the World Series, held in Washington, Pa., at 6 p.m. today against Del City, Okla. Other teams in the nine-team double-elimination include Puerto Rico and Japan.
