The Rams and Raiders will be playing for keeps this weekend as the National Football League teams open their season on the road.

On Sunday coach John Robinson’s crew will play the St. Louis Cardinals in Busch Stadium at 10 a.m. (2)(8), while Tom Flores’ Raiders will take on quarterback John Elway’s Denver Broncos in Mile High Stadium at 1 p.m. (4)(36)(39).

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears will host the Cleveland Browns Sunday at 10 a.m. (4)(36).

In today’s college football action, UCLA will kick off its season against the No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Sooners at 12:30 p.m. on ABC (7)(3)(10)(42). The network also will televise Florida State vs. Nebraska at 5 p.m. today, now that the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. has allowed the Cornhuskers to use all 60 of its players who were suspended earlier this week.

Moving from colleges to courts, the U.S. Open tennis tournament will feature the women’s singles final and men’s singles semifinal today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (2)(8). Coverage of the men’s singles final can be seen Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. on the same stations.
