PREP FOOTBALL : Laguna Hills Breaks Streak With 14-13 Win
Laguna Hills broke a 14-game losing streak over three seasons Thursday night with a 14-13 nonleague victory over Estancia at Mission Viejo High School.
The Hawks took a 7-0 lead on a 29-yard pass from Chris Leigber to Brian Fleming. Chris Cotner also scored on a three-yard run for the Hawks (1-1).
Estancia trailed only 14-13 in the fourth quarter after a 19-yard run by Scott Onstott, but a two-point try failed. Onstott also scored on a two-yard run.
Laguna Hills’ last victory was a 28-7 win over San Clemente on Oct. 19, 1984.
