Leach Leads Granada Hills Tonight at Canoga Park in Nonleague Game

The Granada Hills High football team continues its mild preleague schedule tonight at Canoga Park at 8 p.m. The game is one of four scheduled tonight.

A member of the Valley 4-A League, Granada Hills (2-0) has waltzed past Alemany and Chatsworth, rolling up 786 yards. Quarterback Jeremy Leach has completed 21 of 33 passes for 360 yards and 5 touchdowns, while Khalid Ali, Mike Davis and Jamaal Farmer have combined to rush for more than 400 yards.

“We have a variety of offensive weapons,” Coach Darryl Stroh said. “It’s tough to figure out what we will do next.”

Canoga Park (0-2), a member of the 3-A Sunset League, edged one 4-A team, El Camino Real, 7-0, and was beaten by another, Cleveland, 23-7. Mike Conover has gained 163 yards on 31 carries for the Hunters.

Other nonleague games include Manuel Arts (1-0) at Chatsworth (0-2) and Calabasas (1-1-1) at El Segundo (1-2). Carpinteria (2-1) travels to Oak Park (0-3) in a Tri-Valley League opener.
