Darcey Paces CSUN Women in Rout of Chapman College
The Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team defeated Chapman College, 15-4, 15-4, 15-1, in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. match at Northridge on Friday night.
Outside hitter Sue Darcey led CSUN with 13 kills. Middle blockers Chris Tedeschi and Karen Lontka each had seven kills.
Outside hitter Franci Bowman hit two service aces and setter Angela Brinton had five kills in seven attempts for a team-high .714 hitting percentage.
CSUN (23-4, 8-0 in conference) is ranked No. 1 in the NCAA’s Division II.
“I thought tonight was the best match of the year,” Coach Walt Ker said. “People finally got a taste of what we’ve been doing in practice.”
