SETTLING A SCORE
There was a pleasant rumor going around Boston prior to the seventh game of the World Series that an episode from TV’s 1960s “Lost in Space” had predicted a Red Sox victory over the Mets in a 1986 match-up.
But the Red Sox lost--so what happened?
Globe TV writer Ed Siegel asked “Lost” stars June Lockhart and Jonathan Harris, as well as Jonathan Eisner, editor of the Lost in Space fan mag, to search their taped files. No such segment. But a 1967 episode, “The Haunted Lighthouse,” does have a character in the 1990s thinking back to a 1984 World Series in which the Mets downed . . . the California Angels.
