El Toro Remains No. 1 in Football Top 10

El Toro High School, which can clinch at least a tie for its sixth league title in the past seven seasons with a victory over Dana Hills this week, remained the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. high school football poll.
Servite, ranked sixth last week, slipped to seventh after edging Bishop Montgomery, 29-28. Esperanza, one of three Empire League teams in the poll, moved to sixth.
In the featured game Friday night, second-ranked Saddleback plays Tustin at 7:30 at Northrup Field.
