Michigan State football Coach George Perles criticized the Buffalo Bills for firing Coach Hank Bullough, Perles’ longtime friend and a former assistant coach with the Spartans.
Bullough was replaced by Marv Levy after the Bills’ record fell to 2-7 Sunday.
“I can’t believe someone would take a man with 28 years of struggling and work, start the season without a quarterback, go through nine games and then not have the courage or backbone to support him until the end of the season,” Perles said. “That’s a slap in the face to football.”
