William & Mary Was the Place to Prove It

As a basketball player at Virginia, Kenny Lambiotte was basically a spear-carrier on a team led by Ralph Sampson. Seeing little future on the courts, he decided to try football.

He went to football Coach George Welsh and asked if he could try out for quarterback. Welsh offered little encouragement, so Lambiotte decided to take his act elsewhere. He transferred to William & Mary.

In last Saturday’s game between Virginia and William & Mary, Lambiotte completed 29 of 37 passes for 307 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 2 more scores.

William & Mary won, 41-37.
