Community College Roundup : Orange Coast College Defeats Citrus in Volleyball

Orange Coast College moved into sole possession of the Orange Empire Conference lead with a 15-17, 15-7, 15-5, 15-8 win over Citrus Wednesday at OCC.
Ann Javage had 21 kills and 7 aces and Cindy Thomas added 10 kills as the Pirates won their eighth straight.
OCC is 5-0 in the conference and 9-2 overall. Citrus fell to 4-1 and 5-7.
In another Orange Empire Conference match:
Rancho Santiago 3, Saddleback 1--Melanie Schuler had 15 kills and 5 aces to lead the Dons to a 15-10, 15-7, 13-15, 15-13 win at Santa Ana. Rancho Santiago is 3-2, 6-3.
In Western States Conference wrestling:
Cypress 44, L.A. Pierce 6--Sean Goodwin won his 19th consecutive match to lead Cypress Wednesday.
Goodwin defeated Pierce’s Eric Madden, 36-21, in their 193-pound match. Also, Cypress’ Bill Weatherill defeated Gary Dickerson, 11-5, at 180 pounds.
Cypress is 2-1 in conference, 2-1 overall. Pierce fell to 0-3 and 0-5.
