University of San Diego men’s soccer Coach Seamus MacFadden has been named the West Coast NCAA Division I Coach of the Year by the Intercollegiate Soccer Coaches Assn. MacFadden led the Toreros to the best season in the school’s history.
USD was 19-4-1 and finished second in the West Coast Athletic Conference behind the University of San Francisco. Despite playing in Division I, USD offers no scholarships for men’s soccer.
The coaches association named a regional coach of the year in four separate regions. A national coach of the year will be selected from the four regional winners after the NCAA tournament.
