San Diego Section Tennis : Mimi Burgos Named Player of Year

Mimi Burgos of University City High School, who rallied to upset Shannon Crockett of Bishop’s for the San Diego Section individual singles championship last Saturday, is the section’s Player of the Year.

In addition to Burgos and Crockett, the San Diego Section’s first team members are Linda Allred of Torrey Pines, Cammie Foley of Bonita Vista, Zarina Galvan of Hoover, Veena Prabhakar of Bonita Vista, Carla Quaresma of Poway and Laura Richards of Vista. Bonita Vista’s Connie Carbone and Karen Price and La Jolla’s Francoise Barton and Hana Ohkawa are first team doubles selections.

Carbone and Price won the individual doubles championship last Saturday. Bonita Vista is the 3-A champion, La Jolla the 2-A champion.
