Sub Ahoy to LAX

Share

Barbara Mitchell (Letters, Dec. 6) has the right idea on how to eliminate airport noise: build a large, new regional airport in the ocean.

Since there would be a lot of noisy boats carrying passengers to and from that airport, why not have them transported by submarine? This would go a long way toward abating the noise.

In fact, why not forget the ocean airport and do away with airport noise by transporting people everywhere by submarine. Then there would be no airplanes to make noise. How, you ask, would the submarines travel within the United States? Haven’t you ever heard of large, new canals?
