Sitton’s 20 Points Lead CSUN to Win

Denise Sitton scored 20 points and had nine rebounds to help the Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team even its season record with a 72-45 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Wednesday at Northridge.
CSUN (6-6) took a 33-32 lead at halftime and turned the game into a rout by limiting Northwestern Oklahoma (6-3) to six field goals in the second half. The Lady Matadors led, 45-39, with 12:39 left and then outscored Northwestern Oklahoma, 27-6, to win going away.
With the 20-point performance, Sitton continued her pursuit of the school career scoring record, held by Paula Moran, the team’s assistant coach, at 1,264. Sitton trails by 105 points with 1,159.
Twins Marianne (14) and Kathleen Dixon (10) combined for 24 points for CSUN.
