Titans’ Asgari First in Invitational Meet

Ardeshir Asgari, a senior wrestler from Cal State Fullerton, defeated Chris Olejnik of Cal State Bakersfield, 6-4, Sunday to win the 158-pound division of the 11-team Southern California Invitational at Cal State Fullerton.

The Titans, who finished sixth with 38 points, got fourth-place finishes from sophomore Scott Guy (150), sophomore Jim Klink (167), junior Mark Van Everen (177) and junior John Moses (275).

Cal State Bakersfield won with 73 3/4 points, Nebraska (71) was second, Fresno State (64 1/2) third, Notre Dame (47 3/4) fourth and New Mexico (41 1/2) fifth.
