Tyrell Biggs’ Bout With Carl Williams in Rome Postponed
Heavyweight contender Tyrell Biggs, who suffered minor arm injuries in a car accident in Laguna Beach, Calif., will not fight Carl (The Truth) Williams in Rome Jan. 31, the promoter said Friday night.
Main Event-Monitor Productions said the bout likely will be postponed until April, spokeswoman Kathy Duva said.
Biggs sustained a sprained left wrist and bruised left elbow in the accident Tuesday. He later was treated at a sports clinic, where a doctor prescribed 7 to 10 days’ rest.
Biggs, rated the No. 1 heavyweight contender by the World Boxing Assn., is 13-0 with 7 knockouts. In his last fight Dec. 12, he won a 10-round decision over Renaldo Snipes.
