Orange County Prep Soccer : Laguna Hills Girls Shut Out Orange, 8-0

Erin McGinnis scored two goals to lead Laguna Hills High School to an 8-0 victory over Orange in the Pacific Coast League opener at Laguna Hills Tuesday.

The Hawks, 12-0-4 and ranked No. 1 in the 3-A division, also received goals from Erica Ziencina, Joanna Noble, Heather McIntyre, Xanne Brakke, Lindsey Rhebeck and Angela Magill.

In the Empire League:

Esperanza 4, El Dorado 2--Coleen Gamblin and Denise Servi led Esperanza with two goals each. Nichole Eyre and Whitney Nelson scored for El Dorado (2-3, 2-5-1) at Esperanza. The Aztecs improved to 3-1-1 in league play.

In the South Coast League:

Dana Hills 3, Irvine 0--Janae Deffenbaugh, Helen Crowe and Corinne Dawson scored in the league opener at Dana Hills. The Dolphins improved to 11-3-1.

Mission Viejo 4, San Clemente 0--Erin Dunteman, Jennifer Dattis, Kerri Kennedy and Tammy Van Opeorp scored for the Diablos (1-0, 14-0-1) at San Clemente. Goalkeeper Julie Hembree made three saves for the shutout.

In the Orange League:

Western 0, Brea-Olinda 0--Goalkeeper Juan Yoma made 13 saves for Western (2-7-2) including a crucial stop of a seven-yard kick by Brea halfback Ken Claborn with eight minutes remaining. Brian Hester had five saves for the Wildcats (0-0-1, 6-4-2) at Western.

In the Angelus League:

Servite 6, Pius X 0--Rhett Harty, a junior forward, scored three goals to lead the Friars (2-2, 5-7) at Pius X. James Berry added two and Marc Pagaza one. Goalkeepers Tom Nieto and Geoff Moore shared the shutout.

Mater Dei 8, St. Paul 0--Jeremy Skiver, a senior forward, led the Monarchs (3-1, 10-2) with two goals.
