Local News in Brief : Freeway Ramps Open for Valencia Center
Newhall Land & Farming Co. and the state Department of Transportation on Friday opened privately financed freeway on- and off-ramps in Valencia.
Ramps serving the southbound side of the Golden State Freeway at Rye Canyon Road were built to ease congestion in the growing Valencia Industrial Center, said Jim Backer, spokesman for Newhall Land & Farming, which is developing the center.
Newhall Land covered the about $2 million cost of building the ramps, Backer said.
For northbound traffic entering the industrial area, ramps from nearby California 126 will connect to Avenue Stanford in the spring, he said.
