Costa Mesa Man Wounded Near Catering Truck

A 22-year-old man was shot in the neck by a robber after he refused to give up his money, police said. Jesus Garcia Torres of Costa Mesa was standing outside a friend’s catering truck at 739 West 19th St. at 2:15 a.m. Monday when a man with a small handgun came up to him and asked for money, police said. When Torres refused, the man shot him in the neck, police said. Torres was listed in good condition Monday at Costa Mesa Medical Center Hospital, police said.
