Mike Norris, the former pitcher for the Oakland A’s, will be allowed to remain on a drug-diversion program for at least another 90 days after a recent arrest for drunken driving. A blood test after that arrest showed cocaine in his blood.

A judge in Alameda County Superior Court ordered Norris to return to court April 24 for a hearing to determine whether he should be pulled from the program or be subjected to felony drug charges. Before his arrest, the New York Yankees had been interested in signing Norris, who retired in 1983 with a 57-59 record.
