A suspected burglar who tried to climb down a chimney of a house in Lynwood found himself in a tight spot, authorities said. Ernesto Rodriquez, 20, was discovered wedged in the chimney of the house shortly before dawn when his screams for help awakened the 77-year-old resident and several of her neighbors, a sheriff’s deputy said. After firefighters spent an hour pulling him out, deputies brought Rodriquez to St. Francis Hospital for treatment of some cuts and bruises and then took him to jail. Rodriquez, of South Gate, was booked on suspicion of burglary and held on $2,500 bail.
