Mother Allegedly Uses Paddle on a Principal

MOODY, Ala. —
A woman who allegedly hit an assistant principal with the same paddle used to spank her son has been charged with assault, police said Monday.
The mother, Vicki Elmore, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, after Elsie McGowan, assistant principal at Moody Elementary School, reported being hit on the head with the paddle last week, officials said. Earlier, McGowan had paddled Elmore’s son, a first-grader, police said. They said McGowan suffered bruises in the encounter.
