Bolsa Grande’s Joe Small Named League’s MVP

Joe Small, Bolsa Grande High School forward, was named the Garden Grove League’s most valuable player in a vote by the league’s boys’ basketball coaches.

Small averaged 22.2 points and 11.9 rebounds and shot 55% from the field. Bolsa Grande Coach Tony Lipold, who led the Matadors to their first league title since the 1961-62 season, was named coach of the year.
