Center Sam Bowie of the Portland Trail Blazers, who broke a shinbone last fall, will miss the rest of the National Basketball Assn. season, the team physician said.
Dr. Robert Cook said he is considering doing bone graft surgery on Bowie, who broke his right tibia in a Nov. 7 game.
Bowie had been given an outside chance of returning to the team in time for the playoffs.
