Camp Pendleton
A 16-year-old Irvine girl who may have fallen asleep at the wheel was killed when the car she was driving left Interstate 5 early Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Suzanna Young was northbound south of Las Pulgas Road in Camp Pendleton when her car apparently hit the center divider, swerved to the right and then off the freeway about 12:30 a.m., a CHP spokeswoman said. Young was dead at the scene.
