Houston shortstop Dickie Thon remained absent from camp at Kissimmee, Fla., for the second day and Astro General Manager Dick Wagner asked agent Tom Reich for help in locating the missing player.
Thon walked out of training camp Saturday. Thon was platooned at shortstop last season with Craig Reynolds as he continued his comeback from a 1984 beaning that affected his vision.
When located, Thon will be asked to return to Houston for an examination by the club’s eye specialist, Dr. Dan Jones.
