Fullerton Faces Las Vegas in Key Baseball Series
The Cal State Fullerton baseball team, which swept three games from Cal State Long Beach last weekend, travels to Las Vegas tonight to open a three-game series against Nevada Las Vegas.
The Titans lead the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. with a 5-1 record (26-12 overall). The Runnin’ Rebels (4-2, 21-13) are a game behind Fullerton. The teams play tonight and Saturday night at 7 and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Longo Garcia and Mike Harkey were named PCAA pitchers of the week after impressive victories over the 49ers.
Garcia pitched a five-inning no-hitter in a 7-0 rain-shortened victory Friday. Harkey threw a two-hitter and struck out 12 in a 9-0 victory Saturday.
