Unruh Leaves Hospital After Phlebitis Attack
State Treasurer Jesse Unruh, hospitalized earlier this week with phlebitis, checked out of UCLA Medical Center on Sunday.
Unruh, 64, who was admitted April 20, left the hospital in the morning in good condition, a medical center spokeswoman said. Unruh was treated for phlebitis, or inflammation of the veins in one of his legs. He was treated for the same ailment 15 years ago.
Unruh was inaugurated for a fourth term as treasurer in January, after winning reelection last Nov. 4 without an opponent from either major party.
He served in the Assembly from 1954-70, and was Speaker for almost eight years.
