Wasn’t It a Dodger Who Started the Whole Thing?

So soon Viewpoint writers Rick Beaver and Non Sogoian Witt forget about the circumstances of the Dodger-Giant “altercation.” As I recall, the person who started the whole incident was Dodger Mike Marshall. Why is it that he got mad? He says the Giants were pitching around Pedro Guerrero to get to him. That sounds fine to me. Marshall was 0 for the game at the time.

Yes, some of the Giant fans were drunk, but what stirred them up?

Reader Gary Messineo complains about the “Beat L.A.” chant. His idea is good (“Beat Frisco”), but isn’t it a funny coincidence that I’ve heard that same chant wherever the Lakers go?

People from the rest of the country don’t understand the “Southern California mentality” of leaving blowouts early to beat the traffic. The Giants were down, 5-1, in that same game. If the Dodgers had been down, 5-1, in the fifth inning at Dodger Stadium, half the crowd would be leaving.
