College Baseball : Ross, Harkey Lead Titans Over Pacific
Mike Ross doubled, homered and drove in three runs to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 12-2 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. victory over University of the Pacific Saturday at Titan Field.
Mike Harkey (8-2) allowed four hits and one run while striking out 10 in seven innings. The Titans (18-2, 41-14) have won seven in a row and 19 of their last 21.
The teams complete PCAA play today at 1 p.m. at Fullerton. Pacific (6-14, 18-34) has lost all 16 games it has played against Fullerton.
UC Irvine 8, San Jose State 1--Gabby Rodriguez (7-5) threw a five-hitter at Anteater Field as UCI (12-8, 26-26-1) took sole possession of second place with its fifth win in a row.
The Anteaters, who lead UC Santa Barbara by a game going into today’s last day of the regular season, play host to San Jose State’s Anthony Telford, who leads the nation in strikeouts, at 1 p.m.
The Spartans (8-12, 31-27) have lost six straight games.
