Huang Shoots 69, Wins Japanese Ladies Golf
First-round leader Huang Yuen-chyun of Taiwan fired a 3-under-par 69 Sunday and won the rain-shortened Bridgestone Ladies Golf Tournament by five strokes over compatriot Tai Yu-hsia.
Huang, who finished with a 7-under-par 137, earned $50,000 for her fifth victory in Japan. The tournament, originally scheduled for 54 holes, was shortened to 36 because of rain Saturday.
Huang had four birdies Sunday over the 6,055-yard, par-72 Kasugai Country Club course.
Tai shot the day’s best score of 68 for a 142 total and collected $25,000.
