A welder slipped and fell 60 feet to his death Monday from the top floor of a Huntington Beach parking structure, police said.
The name of the 59-year-old man, said to be an Arizona resident, was being withheld until his family could be notified, Police Lt. William D. Mamelli said.
The man, who worked for Cowelco Metal Contractors of Long Beach, was apparently working on the roof of a stairwell of the structure at One Pacific Plaza when the accident occurred. He died at the scene of massive head and body injuries.
The accident is being investigated by federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials.
