Local News in Brief : $500,000 Simi Valley Blaze Blamed on Arson
Ventura County fire officials said arson was the cause of a fire that swept through the mill building of a Simi Valley lumber company Saturday night.
Damage to the Terry Lumber Co. at 2054 Tapo St. was estimated at $500,000, said Peggy Bowman, a spokesman for the Ventura County Fire Department. No one was hurt, she said.
Six engines, two squads and a truck went to the blaze.
