An Antelope Valley woman accused of dousing her disabled boyfriend with rubbing alcohol and setting him on fire in an argument was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Vincent Burton said Nancy Hill, 23, was still at a house in the 38600 block of North 35th Street East, Palmdale, when paramedics arrived to take Charles Smith, 33, to the hospital. A friend on the premises, who had extinguished the fire and telephoned for help, told deputies the two had been arguing when Hill threw the rubbing alcohol on Smith and then ignited him with a burning paper bag. Smith, who was unable to defend himself because of a crippling back injury, suffered burns on his face, neck and chest. He was in stable condition at Palmdale Hospital Medical Center.
