Kansas City Royals officials met with players to explain their decision to allow rookie Bo Jackson to play professional football with the Raiders after the baseball season is over.
General Manager John Schuerholtz said the meeting “cleared the air. There is no rhubarb anymore, there is no distraction anymore.”
Royal star George Brett said: “We talked about some things, and I believe we put some situations in their proper place. I think everybody has a better understanding of what Bo’s contract was about before Friday and what it’s like after Friday, right now. I think there were some things said in Toronto that maybe people might take back now, because they really didn’t understand the whole situation.”
