Lance Scores 20 in Kennedy Alumni Win

Mark Lance had 20 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Kennedy High to an 85-78 win over El Camino Real in a first-round game Wednesday night at Monroe High in the 1st annual High School Alumni Basketball tournament.
Rollon Rhoane added 19 for Kennedy, which pulled away with a 60-point second half. Larry Murphy had 19 points, Sean Davis 18, and Jeff Davis 16 for El Camino. Kennedy trailed by 11 at the half.
In the other first-round game, Monroe got 34 points from Steve Fleming, including four 3-pointers, to beat Chaminade, 64-53.
Chaminade got 13 points from Kevin Black and Chris Costley had 10.
Pat Gibbs, Rod Wright, and Tom Rocket combined for 32 rebounds for Monroe.
First-round action continues tonight at San Fernando High with Chatsworth playing Alemany at 7:30 and Cleveland playing Taft at 8:30.
On Friday night, Crespi will play North Hollywood at 7:30 and Reseda will play Granada Hills at 8:30. Both games are at Cleveland High.
