Orange County College Roundup : Irvine Defeats Fullerton Women
Kris Roberts and Ali Wood had 17 kills each to lead UC Irvine to a 15-8, 14-16, 15-8, 15-9 victory over Cal State Fullerton in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. women’s volleyball match at Irvine Wednesday night.
It was the fourth consecutive victory for Irvine (2-2, 6-4). Fullerton is 1-5, 8-9.
In Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. men’s soccer:
Cal State Fullerton 3, San Jose State 2--Tom Atencio scored two goals for Fullerton, the second of which broke a 2-2 tie with five minutes left in the conference opener for both teams at San Jose.
Atencio scored early in the game to give Fullerton a 1-0 first-half lead. Jake Willard scored in the first minute of the second half for the Titans (1-0, 6-3).
In nonconference men’s soccer:
University of San Diego 2, UC Irvine 0--Bob Welsh and Chris Duke scored for San Diego in the first half. Irvine is 3-6.
