The University of San Diego football team, its streak of three straight shutouts having ended in a 23-18 loss to Azusa Pacific last Saturday, will try to extend a different streak when it plays host to Pomona-Pitzer at 7:30 tonight.

The Toreros (3-1-1) have not lost to Pomona since 1971. Since then, USD has a 14-0-1 record against the Sagehens. USD won last year, 42-16.

Pomona-Pitzer (1-3) comes into tonight’s game with a three-game losing streak. The Sagehens have scored seven touchdowns this season, and quarterback Ed Irick has passed for five of them. Irick averages 232 yards passing per game.
