Heavyweight contender Carl Williams knocked down Mike Gans three times on the way to a seventh-round technical knockout in a scheduled 10-round bout at Atlantic City, N.J.
Williams, ranked third by the International Boxing Federation, improved to 19-2 with 15 knockouts. Gans fell to 11-6.
In another bout, former IBF lightweight champion Othal Dixon knocked out Jimmy Paul at 1:02 of the fourth round in a scheduled 10-round junior-welterweight bout.
