U.S. Pro Indoor Purse Increased to $612,500

PHILADELPHIA —
The purse for the 1988 Ebel U.S. Pro Indoor Tennis Championships has been increased 34 percent to $612,500, a tournament spokeswoman announced Monday.
The previous record purse totaled $475,000, for the 1986 tournament, according to Marilyn Fernberger, tournament co-chairwoman.
The tournament will be held Feb. 22 to Feb. 28 at the Spectrum.
The U.S. Pro Indoor is one of 75 worldwide tournaments on the Nabisco Grand Prix circuit.
