Orange County Community College Roundup : El Camino Rallies to Tie Golden West

El Camino College rallied with two goals late in the second half to tie Golden West, 2-2, in a South Coast conference soccer match Tuesday at Huntington Beach.

El Camino’s Jeff Goodrich and Paul Soufl scored in the final 10 minutes to tie the score after Kurt Lundberg and Jose Cueva scored to give Golden West (10-1-3, 1-1-1) a 2-0 lead. Erik Smith had 15 saves for Golden West and Mike Littman had 11 for El Camino.

In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:

L.A. Harbor 3, Orange Coast 2--John Bovetas and Bill Smith scored for OCC (6-5-2, 4-3-1) at Harbor.

In Orange Empire Conference water polo:

Saddleback 18, Orange Coast 12--Denni Bethke had five goals, Keith Shore four and Dave Knox three for Saddleback (13-1, 10-0) at Mission Viejo. Gaucho Goalie Jim Bakkila had 13 saves.

San Diego Mesa 15, Cypress 13--Brian Zender scored six goals to lead Mesa (19-8, 8-1,) the fourth-ranked team in Southern California, at Cypress. Kurt Rudolph had six goals for Cypress (5-14, 2-7).

In nonconference water polo:

Golden West 12, UC San Diego JV 5--Jeff Wines had five goals, Craig Douglas 3 and Mark Alpert 2 for the Rustlers (12-4) at home.
