Fatality Blamed on Umpire’s Call

FOND DU LAC, Wis. —
A 79-year-old Minnesota Twins fan watching the seventh game of the World Series on television became enraged at an umpire’s call at home plate and suffered a fatal heart attack, his son said today.
Willard Brown, 79, became upset Sunday when umpire Dave Phillips called Don Baylor of the Twins out at home plate, Willard Brown Jr. said. Televised replays showed Baylor touching the plate before the tag was made.
