USIU Defeats UC San Diego in Volleyball
Claudia Johnson and Nancy Dome had 12 kills each Wednesday night to lead United States International University to a 15-4, 15-6, 15-10 nonconference women’s volleyball victory at UC San Diego.
USIU (17-5) had a .433 hitting percentage for the match, and UCSD, the top-ranked Division III team, hit just .068. Carol Lipson had 25 assists for UCSD (25-4).
In other matches:
UCLA 3, San Diego State 1--Laurie Zeno had 23 kills to lead UCLA (21-7) to a 15-5, 15-8, 12-15, 15-5 victory over the Aztecs in a nonconference match at Westwood. SDSU (10-15) was led by Angelica Jackson’s 23 kills.
