Cleveland 19, El Camino Real 14--Quarterback Jamie Grossman’s 16-yard touchdown pass to Mario Hull with 1:43 left in the game gave Cleveland the win in its homecoming game.
The score capped an 80-yard, five-play drive that also included a 33-yard pass from Grossman to Turhon O’Bannon.
Grossman also stopped El Camino’s comeback attempt by intercepting a Carl McFadden pass at Cleveland’s 38-yard line with 56 seconds remaining.
El Camino (0-7-2, 0-2-2 in league play) had taken a 14-13 on Tylyn Cook’s seven-yard run with 8:16 remaining.
Cleveland (4-5, 2-2) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Grossman’s nine-yard touchdown pass to Hull. El Camino tied the game at 7-7 on Cook’s seven-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
For Cleveland, Grossman completed 11 of 17 passes for 135 yards and 3 touchdowns. O’Bannon and Hull each had five receptions.
