NBA Roundup : Cold-Shooting Bullets Bow to Hawks, 102-94
For whatever reason, the Washington Bullets were shooting blanks.
The Bullets made just 26% of their shots in the first half and never fully recovered Thursday night in a 102-94 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at Landover, Md.
Kevin Willis scored 23 points for the Hawks, and Cliff Levingston, playing in the place of the injured Dominique Wilkins, had 13 of his 21 in the first half, when Atlanta built a 45-30 lead.
Official Ken Mauer called five technical fouls on the Bullets--two on Darrell Walker and one each on John Williams, Jeff Malone and Coach Kevin Loughery.
Phoenix 120, New York 114--James Edwards scored 30 points, and Bernard Thompson added 23 as the Suns downed the Knicks at Phoenix.
Gerald Wilkins had 28 points for the Knicks.
