Scott Campbell scored 25 points to lead host La Quinta High School to a 70-58 victory over Katella in the title game of the Aztec tournament Friday night.

Campbell sparked a 10-1 third-quarter Aztec run as La Quinta (7-2) extended a narrow 40-37 lead to 50-38 in the last three minutes of the quarter. The Aztecs ran their lead to 62-42 midway through the final quarter.

Katella (4-3) had rallied from an early 19-11 deficit behind Darrell McGinnis’ 14 second-quarter points to tie the score, 31-31, at halftime. The Knights also capitalized on the Aztecs’ poor second-quarter shooting that saw them make just 4 of 14 shots.
