Don’t Expect to Return in 1988: Irvin

Ram cornerback LeRoy Irvin, who has kept quiet and played spendidly since his suspension in early November, said after the game he doesn’t expect to be back next season.

“I feel like this was my last time playing in Anaheim Stadium for the Rams,” Irvin told reporters afterward.

Irvin has embroiled in a bitter contact dispute for most of the season and has only recently returned to his Pro Bowl form. As for his future, Irvin said:

“I don’t know. I just think it’s not here in Los Angeles. I don’t know that. I hope it is. But I have a gut feeling it is not.”
