High School Basketball : Watts, Thomas Spark Taft in 95-45 Win

Quincy Watts and Dedan Thomas combined for 47 points to lift Taft to a 95-45 victory over Franklin in the first round of the Eagle Rock tournament.
Watts, who made 11 of 15 shots, scored 27 points. Thomas added 20.
Taft (7-1) plays Wilson in the quarterfinal round Monday at 3:30 p.m.
North Hollywood 110, Paraclete 36--Dominic Nappi scored 31 points to lead North Hollywood in the first round of the Bell-Jeff tournament.
“About the best thing I can say about the game was that Dominic Nappi played back to All-City level,” North Hollywood Coach Steve Miller said.
The Huskies (6-2) play Downey in the second round Monday night.
Guard Danny Klein had 18 assists and center Dana Jones blocked 12 shots.
GIRLS
Channel Islands 63, Louisville 44--Kristin Carpenter scored a team-high 15 points for Louisville (3-6) in the first round of the Thousand Oaks tournament at Westlake High.
La Habra 48, North Hollywood 36--Robyn Seabrook scored 24 points to lead La Habra in the first round of the Gahr tournament. Sandrine Rocher scored 20 points for North Hollywood.
